What programs are required so I can play DVD movies using Ubuntu 11.04

I require assistance to be able to play DVD movies on my computer using Ubuntu 11.04 O/S.
I need to know what programs have to be added to enable this function.
(The reason why I have not upgraded to a later O/S is I have tried later versions and find them inadequate and too
overly simplified, i.e. the operator is removed from access to the machine itself.)
Could you please assist me?

You can use "VLC Player" available in Ubuntu Software Center.

or install from terminal

sudo apt-get install vlc

Ubuntu 11.04 has reached end of life on October 28, 2012. Please upgrade to a supported release, no security updates have been applied to your OS since then.
