Reporting a moderator for abuse/bias (Appeal to ubuntu administrator)

Hello i recently joined ubuntu forums to seek advice about a particular version of ubuntu and I have had an unpleasant experience from a moderator who locked my topic when it shouldn't have been.

I suspect that he has bitterness towards my personal beliefs and then proceeded to use his powers to make my life difficult.

    Here is the thread:

    http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2156984

The moderator in question is: QIII

He locked my topic because: 'This is not a forum for finding either religious advice or psychiatric advice.'

No where in my original post do i indicate this. I was simply seeking advice about the particular ubuntu distro, which before I could get the answers he closed the topic.

I appeal to ubuntuforums.org administrator (or whoever deals with the management of moderators here) that this is a clear abuse of power and proof of bias from this mod.

I suggest that if he cannot keep control of his personal feelings then he should not be moderating the 'Ubuntu Christian Edition' forum.

I agree with the closing of the thread by the moderator. It did not need the preamble of Christian beliefs on pornography. The Code of Conduct is quite clear on religion:

Politics and Religion: These two topics have caused serious problems in the past and are now forbidden topics in the forums. Please find another venue to exercise your freedom of speech on these topics.
I would however suggest you to start a new thread along the lines of:

"I believe Ubuntu CE has a porn filter. Is this true, and if so how does it work?"

    The thread was closed correctly.

This is not the place for religious discussions - in addition to the clear prohibition of religion given above from the Code of Conduct, which you read on the same day as posting the thread.

There is also a sticky in the Ubuntu CE forum which says, amongst other things,

The purpose of this section is for the development team to make announcements about Ubuntu Christian Edition including new releases, new features, and such. This is not the place to discuss the validity of this project or the religious implications of it.
Further to s.fox' suggestion - you might want to look into how easy the provided software is to circumvent. Your need to circumvent that is again nothing to do with us nor a support forum.

There was no abuse nor bias from any moderator.

I respect your beliefs, but would have had to close the thread if I had discovered it first.
Aside from closing your thread, how did QIII "use his powers to make my life difficult."?

Addiction is a problem that cannot be easily solved with software. We have had (and closed) other threads on Internet addiction.
Good luck with your search - I hope you can find a solution.

i was not trying to have a religious discussion. I just provided some background info on why I was considering using the software.

Yes and I was asking questions about UCE features. Which before I could get the answers the thread was closed.

    That's a matter of opinion.

I also might add that if QIII hates Christians that he should not have the role of moderating the 'ubuntu Christian edition' forums. As bias will ensue & affect moderating ability.

We don't assign moderators to any particular sub-forums, we all check the various sub-forums at various times, if it hadn't been QIII, it could have been any other member of the moderation team.

We are a tech support forum and can't and won't offer support for psychological problems. If you had left off the preamble, as the other admins have said, the thread wouldn't have been closed. You are welcome to start another thread asking what restrictions are included in UCE.
