Facebook with Gimp and posting photos

Ok...so I took a screenshot and pasted it to Gimp.

Tried several types of files I could to 'save as' but none can be posted on Facebook

No reason given except 'there is a problem with this file'

Would I be better changing to some other editing programme as I'm not about to start creating works of art. I just want to post screenshots on Facebook and forums once i a while.

Try using the "export to" menu option rather than the "save as option".

You don't need Gimp to save screenshots. Just press "Print Scr" (or "prt scr") key on the keyboard to take a screenshot and save it as ".png" file. Then just double-click to open the saved screenshot and "Save as" .jpeg (and manually change the extension name to ".jpg") > Done !

    EDIT:
If you need some basic editing on it, then "KolourPaint" is a nice light weight program to do that easily.
