    Re: ubiquity doesn't appear welcome screen when booting in my custom live cd

    asdeps; Hi Welcome to the forum.

    That screen is the standard screen one gets with the install medium.
    What are you trying to do ?
    To test ubuntu, click on the "try ubuntu" box directly under that iconic representation;
    else;
    other option is to "install" ubuntu ...

    Explain what assistance you are in need of.

    When you boot into the live session, is there an option to install?

    Like an icon in the dash or on the desktop.

    Re: ubiquity doesn't appear welcome screen when booting in my custom live cd

    Your grub looks like a grub for an already installed system.
    The grub for a live cd should look something like this
    Code:
    if loadfont /boot/grub/font.pf2 ; then
    	set gfxmode=auto
    	insmod efi_gop
    	insmod efi_uga
    	insmod gfxterm
    	terminal_output gfxterm
    fi

    set menu_color_normal=white/black
    set menu_color_highlight=black/light-gray

    menuentry "Try Ubuntu without installing" {
    	set gfxpayload=keep
    	linux	/casper/vmlinuz  file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper quiet splash --
    	initrd	/casper/initrd.lz
    }
    menuentry "Install Ubuntu" {
    	set gfxpayload=keep
    	linux	/casper/vmlinuz  file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper only-ubiquity quiet splash --
    	initrd	/casper/initrd.lz
    }
    menuentry "Check disc for defects" {
    	set gfxpayload=keep
    	linux	/casper/vmlinuz  boot=casper integrity-check quiet splash --
    	initrd	/casper/initrd.lz
    }

    grub was there when I go into the chroot (custom folder "edit") and perform kernel upgrade to customize ubuntu ...
    do i have to get rid of it? or replace it with what you show me?
