need COMMAND LINE help.

I went through this with XUBUNTU ... but I have another machine running LUBUNTU 12.04. The problem is I need to pass some parameter to launching CHROMIUM (the default browser for LUBUNTU). Here is the parameter:

--allow-outdated-plugins

and though it was fairly easy with a moderator's help, not sure it is done exactly the same way with LUBUNTU/CHROMIUM. It has a CHROMIUM icon on the lower panel (there is no default top panel). There is also a Chromium Web Browser menu item under 'INTERNET' on the applications menu.

The Xubuntu routine involved creating a file, giving it execution privilage, and placing it in a folder ....but that was Xubuntu and its desktop is somewhat different.

Can someone help me get this done? Maybe even the same moderator who helped me with Xubuntu?

Here is what we did for Xubuntu and CHROME ... but I am SURE there are differences for Chromium/LUBUNTU:

gksu leafpad /usr/local/bin/start_google

copy and paste this code:

/opt/google/chrome/google-chrome --allow-outdated-plugins

...then save the file.

Next, we have to make that file executable. Issue this command:

sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/start_google

And finally, in Settings Manager -> Preferred Applications, select Other for the Web Browser dropdown and enter in this command:

/usr/local/bin/start_google

If you want to use executable file, you must in first line write name of interpreter. For example:

The CHROMIUM icon on the lower panel has changed to something entirely different. When I click on it .. nothing happens. When I click on APPLICATIONS MENU/INTERNET/CHROMIUM WEB BROWSER icon, it runs but complains about outdated plugin. No fix.

Should I have logged out/in ... rebooted, or even set it to executable? Dunno. I await your reply.
