    Angry Launchpad...

In one of the most inept decisions ever, Canonical say you must use the browser you originally signed up to Launchpad with if you lost/can't remember your password! Why????

It just seems really stupid! I signed up with Chrome, but have since ditched it - for my own security reasons - and now use Firefox. Yet, because I've changed and forgotten my password to launchpad, I can't change it just because I'm using Firefox. Surely this is sheer, outright lunacy?!

I'm not going to reinstall Chrome, so that leaves me with no choice other than to re-sign up with a new launchpad account, or flag launchpad altogether in protest... I'm not going to sign up again anytime soon - they can change their stupid rules. Their loss.

    Rant over.

I'm not aware of any need to use the exact same browser to change passwords at Launchpad.

Do you have a screen shot of the error message you were seeing?

I just reset my password using IE and all I needed to do was punch in this 6 digit confirmation code that I got via email.

    What message are you getting?

    Re: Launchpad...

I clicked the link from the email they sent me and this is the result after clicking on the link. Bizzarre.
I requested it (on this occasion) from Firefox, but signed up through chrome.

    Cheers.

    Re: Launchpad...

I think they are talking about not requesting it on one browser (say on your laptop or phone) and then using it on another one, such as a different one on the same machine, or on another machine.

I'm guessing that they're checking for a cookie of some kind. Try allowing cookies just for this occasion and see if that helps.
Please, people, remember to BACKUP before you install that new system. Same if you're upgrading.

    That's probably the case.

Or re-request your password reset using the browser you are using now and you should also be good to go...
