According to www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_list.php it should be faster. i7-3820 (passmark 9005), AMD 1090T (passmark 5710)

My loadavg has gone up from 1-4 to 2-5
The cpu frequency has gone from 1ghz-1.5ghz(amd) to 1.5ghz-2ghz(intel)

So it's working at a higher frequency only to achieve a slower speed.

Same load, disk drives, upgraded from 32gb to 64gb ram same speed 1333mhz. I am running a web server with mysql, apache, v8cgi, nodejs, php.
I simply transplanted the disk. Do I have to do anything else to get it working better with Intel?

But the Intel's temperature is slightly cooler even though the fan is quieter.

dmesg says...
AMD 1090T: 6413.21 bogomips x 6 cores = 38478.04 bogomips
i7-3820: 7199.46 bogomips x 8 cores = 57597.79 bogomips

The article I had seen discussed operating temperatures and cost. To me, lower operating temperatures usually equates to loger life, but the actual difference may be neglible.
One online configurator, comparing apples to apples, at Micro Magic shows the intel i7 to be about $150 more than the AMD.

Thanks for your reply.
