In the last few weeks I did some crazy things in my Ubuntu's

I thought it would be usefull to add a few groups of Ubuntu derivatives, each one under a different release and all of them under the same partition or close by. So I ended up with close to 10 mini partitions each one carrying a different operating system. This was nice when times were good but today I discovered that this was not always easy. Problems started appearing such as:
    a. When I was adding a new partition the main folder appearing in my desktop had the full name of the new intended release but not always the usual "install next to the name". This is were I got confused. When I tried to open the folder with the new release, I discovred that I had to do some strange actions in order to release the power of the new release and apply it where I was hoping to install it.. Then I read a bit inside the folder and I discovered that this would be possible only if I use the power of a floppy disc equivalent. This is were I was totally lost and I gave up in my mega project and limit myself to adding software one at a time.

I am not sure if the install link would appear at some point and make my life easy as before when installing close to 10 mini distros, which were working fine for a while. My questions are:
    1. Is there anyway to get back the install link which was a smooth way to install small distros, in small partitions. I gave up in the idea of floppy disk equivalent and I am now seeking if there is a way to force the "install link somehow externally in the folder" It was working fine in most cases, until a few days ago.

    2. I also have an other problem which may turn out to be more serious:
    3. I discovered a version of XBMCbuntu-11.0 and got the itch to install it in one of my computers (my best one - A Lenovo unit). I am wandering what kind of adventure I will be opening. The initial write up talks about using this system in Ubuntu but also under Windows, can anyone suggest any thing in terms of how easy or difficult this will be.

Your Help and suggestions as always will be very helpfull and despite my age (75 - I am still capable to experiment - Although I am getting a bit slower as time goes by.

I will be eternally gratefull if you can guide me in the above two issues and many many thank you to all the Ubuntu wanderfull Peaple who have helped me so much so far.

All the best to the whole Ubuntu Team and I will try do my best with my very limited knowledge and in all areas that include some of my knowhow.

My name is Costas Lazarou, I am of Greek origin, lived in 4 Countries and speak four languages, maybe one day we will meet in a large Ubuntu Meeting, Maybe in Greece. I understand there is a large Ubuntu community in Greece.

With all my best wishes, from Toronto Canada (It is not cold anymore here).

I removed your address, some users also do not like full name to be posted. Threads are scanned by many systems, some not always the best and then you may get spam or have other issues. If you want, may be better to include that kind of info in your profile.

Are these systems on your hard drive or a flash drive?

If a hard drive, download this into one Ubuntu install or a DVD or flash drive live installer version.

Post the link to the BootInfo report that this creates. Is part of Boot-Repair:
