    Driver selection ATI/AMD

I did a search in the forum but came up empty handed, which one should I install?
I also would like to install compiz 3D cude workspace, so which ever one would be best to use please tell me which one is the better selection.

    Thank you,

    ThatNewGuy

    Hello!

What version of Ubuntu is that and what is your GPU model?

Unless you are planning on doing graphics-intensive Gaming or need to use Catalyst Control Center to control the GPU speed and/or temps, you do not NEED the AMD restricted drivers installed. You already have Radeon drivers installed, or you would not be seeing a desktop.

I've run across this before -- where all you are being offered is Beta versions of the AMD drivers, and folks who have installed any of these have often run into problems.

Unless you really NEED them, you're better off staying with the default Radeon drivers.
    Ubuntu 20.04, Mint 19.10; MS Win10 Pro.

Given the "M" designation, I take it this is a laptop?

Is it a hybrid graphics arrangement (Intel/ATI)?

    Is it currently running hot?

If neither of the above, try Compiz with the default driver. You can always install the proprietary driver later if you want to.
