Does your VPN or SSH Tunnel seem get stuck all the time?

Mine seems to get stuck all the time. It times out and I have to completely restart the tunnel for it to work (SSH Tunnel).

It seems like one little glitch and it quits. I don't have the most perfect connection, it's wireless.

They say the problem is that it's TCP over TCP and that's why it gets stuck, but shouldn't there be something in the TCP protocol that a tunnel program could switch on so it doesn't do the normal thing on the "inside" connection?

Or is there a TCP setting I can set on SSH that would fix the problem?

    Thanks.

I only use a VPN service and had no trouble with the service for the few years I have used them. For SSH I can say I have little to no experience. For the VPN service I have used it on most versions of ubuntu as I do a lot of testing.
