UT2004 Steam version and is it active on linux

hey guys, i own unreal tournament 2004 on steam, and i know that theres some sorta way to install 2004 on linux, but u need the dvd to do it. i was wondering if theres a way to get the steam version to work natively with linux

it does surprise me that steam hasn't done this automatically. considering the game can be run natively and from what i heard, its very popular on linux

    Hi,

Have you tried installing the Windows version of Steam via WINE or PlayOnLinux?

Steam For Linux discussions in steam community are here : http://steamcommunity.com/app/221410/discussions/

also steam developers are available via github here : https://github.com/ValveSoftware/

Best you could do, would be to open a ticket in github. (IMO)

    Regards

There are lots of games that run natively whose Linux versions aren't available through Steam. Since you've paid for the game you could just torrent the DVD image to allow you to run the native installer.

Oh! Be carefull about that. Torrents of copyrighted material are illegal in manycountries even if you own the game. Here in germany they ask you to pay up to some thousand € if you download a single movie and if you get busted.
