Hey! Thank you for your answer.
I just ruled out the possibility of a second device using 192.168.2.2, after disconnecting the server, 192.168.2.2 does not reply to pings.
I do not use any firewall on my windows devices and I do not think that I use a firewall on the ubuntu server. At least I did not install one. Is there one installed by default with ubuntu server 12.04?
Running sudo iptables-save -c did not output anything. Is that good or bad?
While pinging 192.168.2.11 from the server, ip a echoes this:
Code:
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN
link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo
inet6 ::1/128 scope host
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 150 qdisc pfifo_fast state UP qlen 1000
link/ether 08:06:6e:e6:23:57 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
inet 192.168.2.2/24 brd 192.168.2.255 scope global eth0
inet6 fe80:e60:6eff:fee6:2357/64 scope link
valid_lft forever preferred_lft forever
ip n echoes:
Code:
192.168.2.11 dev eth0 lladdr 6c:f0:49:98:e8:a5 REACHABLE
What now?
Edit: I also noticed that http://192.168.2.2 is not working, the server does not respond although an apache is up and running.
Edit 2: It seems the problem has nothing to do with DHCP. I just activated DHCP for the Server and the problem still ocurrs. The problem seems not to end with pings or http-requests: connecting to the server via SSH also is impossible, the connection just times out. How do I find any firewalls set up by ubuntu? I am not aware of any firewall running but maybe I missed something?
