    Ubuntu + Mac Mini + Cinema Display = ?

    Hi,

i am planning to buy a Apple Cinema Display 27 inch, but i am not sure if it will work.
Has anyone tried this setup: Mac Mini mid 2011, 2.3GHz, 8GB RAM, Intel HD 3000 + Ubuntu 13.04 + Apple Cinema Display using the full resolution of 2560x1440 by mini-displayport. Would it work well? The computer itself does currently work very well, but with an old low-end display.

    Thanks for any helpful responses.

Ok, no reply in one week. Maybe i was too specific. Let me rephrase the question: Has anyone experience with hooking up a 2560x1440 cinema display to a mac running linux using native resolution?

My answer may not be the one you want, but it's better than nothing.

I have Ubuntu 13.04 running on a PC with motherboard GA-Z77X-UD5H. I connect a Kogan 27" 2560x1440 Display via DisplayPort to the DisplayPort on the motherboard, which means the integrated video card. And at the same time a Acer 23" 1920x1080 display is connected to the DVI port on the motherboard too. I got problems to make both display working smoothly, every time I logged in with the 2560x1440 is black or disordered, I have to re-apply the display settings in Display resolution settings to make it works normally. However, they can work perfectly if you just plug one of them.
