Every time I try to open /var/www in nautilus, it closes, anyone else having this issue?

I don't have /var/www on my local system, but going into that directory on my server via sftp, works as it should.

I was the permission. I changed www back to root and I can access it now. TY for the suggestion, I should have tried that to begin with. I forgot how to mark threads as solved in the new style forum.
