Security Update to linux-image-generic 22.214.171.124.39 update problem
This is Raring 13.04. The problem is that Software Update wants to install the linux image and it seems to have the entire gnome enviroment as a dependecy. It wants to install many hundreds of files. My Kubuntu is a pure KDE enviroment as I have never tried it before and I wanted to try it out. It has been like this for two weeks now. I thought someone would notice the dependency problem and fix it by now.
Or maybe it is not a mistake. Maybe linux kernel now needs gnome to run a gui enviroment. Ok, probably not! The archive the update is from is the raring-updates archive.
