Damn - the app icon in the Shell panel never really impressed me, and mono icons don't read all that well, but the mono icon for Chrome in the panel looks really surprisingly pretty.

Without the fade effect on the icon, though, the overlapping text looks weird. = /

I'm actually using the Chromium Canary 29 trunk build (unstable/untested dev release).

Heh! When you're rolling on the ragged edge, the line between Chrome and Chromium become blurred.

I suppose that's a Chrome feature, not properly implemented quite yet.

Never thought about it, until you mentioned it, but you're right. It does look odd, in a surprisingly pretty way.

Anyway, if you're feeling lucky, you might want to try Chromium 29...

    WoW! Somebody must be listening...

They just redesigned the page I linked to -- hasn't been changed in months.

They've added a clickable download button that uses the same graphic (with properly spaced text).

I recently decided to give rekonq a go as my main browser and must say I enjoy it. It is stable and fast, and what I enjoy most is the little preview you get when you hover over a tab like in the screenshot:

The fact that it completely blends in with KDE is just a bonus

My Xubuntu 12.04 install with Xfce 4.12, Synapse & Plank Dock.

    Theme: Adwaita Manjaro Dark: http://git.manjaro.org/+developers/m...manjaro-themes
    Icons: Faience Azur Dark: https://launchpad.net/~webupd8team/+...bupd8-1.tar.gz
Fonts: Roboto: http://robotofont.com/ (terminus in my terminal: apt-get install xfonts-terminus)
    Plank Theme: Coal: http://browse.deviantart.com/art/Coa...lank-348651587

The drop down terminal is Xfce Terminal. I used the "xfce4-terminal --drop-down" command to launch it as a Guake style terminal.
