How can I require root to change the date/time?

It's silly that this can be done without root. Is there a way to require this?

Huh. I could display a certain date but I couldn't set the date without running as root. I kept getting "operation not permitted" whatever that means.

Are you using date or something else?

I'm just clicking the time in the top right corner and go to "Manually" and then I can mess with the time/date. I actually don't see any "apply" button though lol. I was just told that changing it doesn't require root. Perhaps I'm mistaken?

Huh. I was messing with it via date in a terminal, not in the GUI.

I guess if allows you to change it thru the GUI because the DE is running as root or something? It sounds like a convenience thing to me.

It was felt that apply buttons were to complicated for new users to use, so they were removed. Changes are now made as soon as you click a checkbox, or a + or - sign.

Gotcha. Well that's insecure if someone has physical access they have root.
