Angry my android tablet won't synchronize with edubuntu

I bought an android tablet from ANKAKA. It is very cool and i enjoy it so much. when i connect my tablet to my laptop running on edubuntu, all i get is the memory. i expected the two to synchronize since both android and edubuntu are open source software. Can someone help? Is there any third party software i need?

WOW -- LOL -- you're kidding, right? Open source has NOTHING to do with compatibility -- unless, that is, you're willing to rewrite the software yourself.

There are LOTS of tablets at that link. Telling us the specific make and model might help.

If you bought a tablet running Android 4.x, you can forget about sync'ing it with Ubuntu. Google dropped USB Mass Storage support from Android 4.x -- so you can't just plug it into your PC and select Disk Drive anymore.
Ubuntu 16.04 Mate, Mint 17.3; MS Win 8.1, MS Win10 Pro.
Will not respond to PM requests for support -- use the forums.
