I use and have used Mozilla SeaMonkey for many years and when I came over to Ubuntu I installed it from the start.
Today the update manager tells me, among other things, that there is a new version available for download under 'Other Updates (Daniel Folkinshteyn)'. Details of this package tell me:
This is the unmodified Mozilla release binary of Seamonkey, packaged into a .deb by the Ubuntuzilla project.
It is strongly recommended that you back up your application profile data before installing, just in case. We really mean it!
Ubuntuzilla project homepage:
http://ubuntuzilla.sourceforge.net/
Mozilla project homepage:
http://www.mozilla.com
I have no reason to doubt that this is an official release, but when I try to install it I get a warning that:
Requires installation of untrusted packages
The action would require the installation of packages from unauthenticated sources
There is just a close button on this popup which when clicked just returns me to the update manager list and does not install. Previous to this problem I had followed the instructions for Ubunuzilla at http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawik...itle=Main_Page which had resulted in daily popups telling me that there was a new version but failing to download. This is the first time Seamonkey has appeared in the update manager.
I am very frustrated by this as I am keen to update, so please no suggestions of using Firefox!!!
Thank you.
