Exclamation 13.04 using ssh command problem

    Hi!
When i connecting to the service through ssh using private key, the process works good.

But i also have servers that have connection through password typing (password prompt for selected user).

    I use commands like this:

    Code:
    >ssh username@sitedomain-or-serverip -pPORT
    >> ssh_exchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host
And see no result for a long time, like it was frozen. And after 2-5 minutes it gives "Connection closed by remote host" message.

    I tried to use
    Code:
    > telnet sitedomain PORT
    >> Trying server.ip...
    >> Connected to server.domain.
    >> Escape character is '^]'.
    >> 220 (vsFTPd 2.2.2)
And seems that servers is working good.
Why average ssh with password prompt authentication does not work`s?

I need urgent help, it is required for my work (mostly i need this for > tail -f 100 filename.log command to fetch error logs)

    Thank in advance!

Try running the ssh command with full verbosity, it may give you more clues...
    Code:
    ssh -vvv user@host

    Code:
    apt-get remove --purge libk5crypto3

Have you tried another port? The port that you are telnetting/sshing to is not a ssh port. Instead, it runs a FTP server called vsFTPd

Re: 13.04 using ssh command problem

If you want to see what applications are using a particular port, you can use
    Code:
    lsof -i :port
If you want to see what ports are open (not taking into effect firewalls such as iptables)
    Code:
    netstat -l
