Installed along side Win8, no boot menu to boot into Ubuntu

Install seemed to go OK. Told me to remove disc and reboot. Boots right into Win8. What do I do now?

Try BOOT-REPAIR. Run the 'Recommended Repair", that should be enough. If you have any problems post the link to 'BootInfo Summary'.
