Firefox has become slow after last update

Hi,

After the last update firefox has become very slow. The slowness is different, it runs like a step motor. For example, if I hover the mouse on some link, it takes a while for the mouse icon to change to hand-shape, after clicking the link it again takes some time for the link to open in a new tab and in the meanwhile the new tab which opened as a result is frozen. I hope you get the idea. It becomes really irritating while watching you tube videos, in full screen mode the video plays like one frame at first then another frame after 5 seconds.

Is anybody facing similar issues with firefox? How can I improve the performance of ff?

Go to the help screen on firefox, "Restart with addons disabled" and see if that helps! If it helps disable them one at a time until you find the right one.
If than doesn't work you might try reloading Firefox and see what you get. first you need to "apt-get --purge remove firefox" then "apt-get install firefox"
