    Upgrading php to 5.3.3

The PHP version I have installed is 5.3.1, and I'm beginning a programming project that requires at least 5.3.3. But when I run sudo apt-get upgrade, it says there's nothing to be upgraded. How can I upgrade to 5.3.3?

What version of Ubuntu are you using? Even 12.04 has version 5.3.10.

I am using 12.04, and the PHP version does say 5.3.10. I read that as 5.3.1 because it's after the decimal, but if that isn't how it works, I apologize. I'm still learning programming, so I'm not up to speed on version numbers.

No problem, it's kind of counter-intuitive when you first encounter it.
