    google hangout

Go to http://www.google.com/+/learnmore/hangouts/ in Firefox and click the download > for your computer
get a popups that says hangout won't work with your current browser and a link to download Chrome. Open the link in Chrome and the download > for your computer link simply doesn't work.

However, I still can download debs and rpm from hangout plugin from here. https://www.google.com/tools/dlpage/hangoutplugin

Does anyone know what is the story here? Does it not support browsers other than Chrome anymore or does it not support Linux?

    Re: google hangout

This is what I saw with Chromium v.25 which is the latest stable version in the software centereven though Chrome stable is at v26. I didn't proceed further and so can't say if things would work or not for Chromium v.25.

Strange. That link doesn't work at all with Chrome. However, if I log into gmail and click hangout in my google + page then it opens a link to download the .deb or .rpm. This works for both FF and Chrome.
