    Re: boot

You also might want to decide if you need to have /boot on a separate partition at all. It's normally only necessary if you are using some unusual filesystem or disk configuration for the rest of your system that the bootloader cannot itself boot. If you've not got some weird setup then having /boot on your normal root partition (as is the default setup) would be simpler and more reliable.

    Re: boot

    Hi

If you want a one liner to remove the kernels, copy and paste this into your terminal. (Captial P below)

    Code:
    sudo dpkg -P linux-image-{,extra-}3.5.0-{17,24,25,26}-generic
I don't understand why no headers were display with that command I posted.

Can you post the output of

    Code:
    dpkg -l | grep linux-headers
    Kind regards

    Re: boot

    Hi

That looks fine to me. It looks like you have two kernels installed now and that is generally accepted as good practice.

You can double check by running this command again and looking to the numbers next to linux-image and linux-image-extra.

    Code:
    dpkg -l | grep -E linux-"headers-|image-"
You can also look in your boot partition again.

    Code:
    ls -l /boot
    Also, to check disk space

    Code:
    df -h

    Re: boot

A quick and good way to see how many kernels you have installed and showing in the grub menu, even if you don't normally see that menu is to run
    Code:
    grep "menuentry " /boot/grub/grub.cfg | cut -c 1-100
