No WIfi Anything Detected after Installation

Hello. Complete newb here. Just made a USB Stick to boot Ubuntu 12.04 LTS from. Everything runs beautifully except the computer can't find any wifi sources, or for that matter even seem to know if it has any wifi hardware available. When I plug in an ethernet cable, it gets internet just fine. And when I plug in a Linksys USB stick, it detects it and I can use wifi through it.

The normal operating system is Windows 7, and it uses the laptops onboard wifi hardware just fine. I'm using an HP Compaq NC6400 computer.

If any more info is needed, please let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

You may need to install restricted drivers for that device. Attach via Ethernet and have your system check for needed drivers.

See the section titled "Install Restricted Drivers (Graphics Drivers, Webcam Drivers and Wireless Drivers) in Ubuntu 12.04"...

if you are running off a USB stick and try to install drivers, it won't do you any good unless you created your USB was created withb persistence. This allows a USB installation "remember" things (like installed software and drivers) from one boot to the next.
