Laptop Suspending When Lid Is Closed

    Hey guys,

I have recently done a fresh install of 13.04 on a HP ProBook 6470B and when closing the laptop lid it suspends the machine, I have changed the settings within power to prevent this from happening but is still persists ie:

Power--> When the lid is closed : Do nothing.

I have also gone into the Brightness & Lock settings and set it to never turn the screen off when inactive and to never lock the screen or require password on wake but the issue is still there.

Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Reece.

Have you disabled power management on the BIOS?

    Try disabling power management altogether.
Windows by necessity, Linux by choice
    Lubuntu and loving it!

That's the only thing I thought it could be. Unfortunately I don't have access to the BIOS because it is password protected (second hander on eBay). Looks like the only option is a BIOS chip replacement.

    Thanks for the help Aromo!
