That's hardware specific. What is the hardware?
The internal mic is a device that appears usually on mobile/laptop devices, the ones that have a mic in them.

I don't know about the dock one. Does your device connect to a dock?

The monitor of a sound device, let's say in your case (and usually), the one of your default audio device, is everything being played out by your device at any given moment. Thus, if you hook up a recording app to it and start recording, then you'll record any sound that is currently being heard on your desktop; useful in some occasions, e.g. video tutorials, etc.

    Hope that helps.

The dock microphone could refer to a laptop dock that has sound connections. It could be a USB camera with a microphone, it could be a separate microphone plugged into the laptop. It could be a "line-in" input jack that needs some boosting with an amplifier to work as a microphone jack.

Monitor is used for feedback so that you can hear yourself speaking. That way you can "monitor" your speaking volume and quality. You can turn it on and off and adjust the volume level. Turn it up too high and you will get squealing--also called microphone feedback.

Just too clarify it is the four categories in the stock sound settings application.

So if I do not have my laptop connected to a dock, I dont need to worry about that category?
The monitor and the internal microphone is the same?
And the microphone, is if I connect the laptop with a microphone?

    Is that correct understood?

I had not seen tgalati4's answer when I posted mine. It clearifies everything. I will mark thread as solved.
