my old cpu fan died and i replaced it. the new fan is crazy loud. i want to slow it down. in the past when i typed "sensors" into the terminal i could see the fan speed (along with lots of other stuff that is no longer visible). when i type "sensors" it prints is the following:
--------------------------------------------------
acpitz-virtual-0
Adapter: Virtual device
temp1: +26.0°C (crit = +60.0°C)

k8temp-pci-00c3
Adapter: PCI adapter
Core0 Temp: +32.0°C
Core0 Temp: +30.0°C
Core1 Temp: +35.0°C
Core1 Temp: +30.0°C
-------------------------------------------------
i read other posts to try to figure it out, but i don't see what the problem is. it seems like something is up with the it87 business, but i don't know. the etc/modules file reads as follows:
--------------------------------------------------
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
# at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.
