    GRAMPS: why is everyone listed twice?

    As part of my migration from Windows 7 to Ubuntu I've downloaded the GRAMPS program but when I import the gedcom file of my family tree from Windows 7 to GRAMPS I seem to get two copies of each person listed. Is this normal?

    I started using the "merge" but it only allows one line at a time, there does not seem to be a "block" selection available.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    I would try getting help from the GRAMPS site as well. A couple of years ago I tried moving my Family Tree Maker files and importing them into GRAMPS so I could get rid of Windows as well. The GEDCOM import seemed to cause problems for me as well. I ended up getting Family Tree Maker running in Wine instead.
