    Fix Broken Packages

    Hello,

I have Ubuntu 13.04 and I think that somehow I removed some important packages, but I'm not sure what. They could be broken too. How do I get my computer back to normal?

Run the following command terminal and post the output in code tags using the # symbol on the reply box tool bar. Please describe what you think is broken also.

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update

    Re: Fix Broken Packages

You can reinstall any important packages you might have accidentally removed with:

    Code:
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop
If there are any errors, post them here.

(note: if you use kubuntu/xubuntu/lubuntu then modify the command above accordingly)

    Re: Fix Broken Packages

IMHO, reinstalling is always an option. But then if you wish to learn new stuff, then you should try to search for a solution, and not end the problem.
This way you will never know how to fix something if it is broken, in the future.
