    libre office text rotate

    Ubuntu 13.04
    Libre office
Want to rotate text 90 degrees.
    Used help section.
Says to click view toolbars drawing.
Opens the drawing toolbar bottom of page.
Click text icon. Drag your object box to size needed.
    type the text.
click out side box, click your text. then the rotate icon. there is no rotate Icon that I can find.
Also says click the object box, right click position and size. Rotation tab, then rotate number of degrees. in my case 90
Well the box rotates, but not the text.
So how do we rotate text on screen so we can visually see how it will look when printed?

After creating your text frame, try Format > Object > Position and Size > Rotate

    Re: libre office text rotate

    ok thanks will try

    tried it.
Position and size is greyed out can't be selected.
Since the rotation icon in the the help section does not appear to exist, I would guess it could be classified as a failure to complete the coding?
There is no rotate icon and no rotate option in the drop down menus.
When right click the drawn object, and selection position and size and then rotate tab, it rotates the object but not the text.
Very frustrating when you follow directions and still can't do what the directions say as the programmer did not fulfill his duties.

Ok. You're using Ubuntu 13.04, so I'm guessing you have LibreOffice 4(?) I'm using LO version 3.5.7.2 on Xubuntu 12.04 and don't have the problems you're having. Maybe it's a bug due to the upgrade of either (or both) of these (another ?). Hopefully someone with those will be of better help than I can be.

Select the text box and right click. Choose <Position and Size> then the <Rotation> tab.

Works for me on LO 4 on 13.04
