    Tab autocomplete

Hi, this is just a query out of interest really.

Every time I install ubuntu the first thing I do is edit /etc/bash.bashrc and uncomment the allow auto complete section.

Why does this always come commented out in new installs? Seems like a useful feature to me.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Matt.

I haven't noticed that tab completion doesn't work - but never looked at that file. Perhaps the file shows default settings? I dunno.

    Re: Tab autocomplete

I don't understand - I have tab completion on Bash out-of-the-box without having to uncomment anything. What's different about your system?
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
