Question Wacom left & right mouse clicks don't work.

    Ubuntu 13.04
Wacom Intuos 3 4x6" Tablet Mouse (also known as a Puck)

In Ubuntu 12.10 the mouse buttons were fully functional, with the upgrade (fresh install) to 13.04 i can only move the cursor with the mouse.
(I had this issue when I upgraded OpenSuse also, that's why I switched to Ubuntu 12.10... and now I find I have the same problem.)
    Thanks for any assistance!

You are not alone, tho' I'm afraid I can't provide a solution. I have the same problem after upgrading to 13.04. Both a Wacom Graphire and a Wacom Intuos 2 behave the same way. Checking with lsusb show that both tablets are seen, and the Wacom Tablet applet in System Settings sees them, but they are unusable. I had the same problem with 12.10 and the Intuos and switching to the Graphire seemed to be a fix, but now both tablets (and yes, I connected each them one at a time and rebooted between changes) are useless.

Fortunately, the stylus remains fully functional for me... but the need to plug in an additional mouse is frustrating. (I hope the stylus works for you too!)
A theory is that the tablet driver files were updated in both the recent versions of Ubuntu and OpenSuse... I lack the experience necessary to downgrade the drivers.

    I downgrade xserver-xorg-input-wacom_0.19 to xserver-xorg-input-wacom_0.15
http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package...rg-input-wacom worked for my wacom graphire mouse. Sory my english is not good.

    Hi,

That bug has been fixed in xf86-input-wacom with a recent commit: http://linuxwacom.git.sourceforge.ne...9bed749ad1a7f2

You would need to clone xf86-input wacom since it is not yet available in a tar release. See either: http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=110408 or http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=110304

    Thank you for the reply
Would the update be available through the "software updater" eventually?
I'm relatively inexperienced and probably shouldn't attempt anything where I could accidentally break things...
already had to reinstall Ubuntu when i experimented with Krita's OpenGL option (as it became stuck in a crash loop I couldn't fix).

Very unlikely. They rarely update something like a driver. You generally have to wait for a new release that has the driver version (or later) you want. I understand your trepidation. It is possible they might backport the bug fix as a patch to the default version of xf86-input-wacom they are using in a particular release, but that is not real likely either. By the way to determine your version enter in a terminal:
    Code:
    xsetwacom -Version

To Silversuds, it's fairly simple to downgrade. This isn't the most efficent way, but it works for newbies like us.

First, download version 1:0.15.99.1-0ubuntu0ricotz from http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/package...rg-input-wacom.

Second, use synaptic to remove the current version of xserver-xorg-input-wacom (probably 1:01.19 ...). You'll also be removing the xserver-xorg-input-all package, not a problem if the tablet is your only input device.

Third, from a command line in the directory where you're downloaded file is, run sudo dpkg -i xserver-xorg-input-wacom_0.15.99.1-0ubuntu0ricotz*.deb (I entered it this way since I don't know whether you'll be using the 32 or 64 bit version.)

    Best of luck,
    Richard Quint

    darn... I have version 0.19.0
(I forgot to mention earlier I'm on a 32 bit machine)
once it's in a tar release install should be easier?
