Double Clicking on Executable Scripts opens them in gedit

Since upgrading to 13.04 my scripts, and links to scripts no longer execute (even though they are marked as executable), instead they open up in gedit as a default. How do I change this behaviour so that and executable script actually runs?

Ok that worked, but its a dumb default action. Executable scripts on the desktop/nautilus should be executable if marked as such.
