Hi after installing 13.04 twice it works for awhile and then using dash to open or drag an icon the screen goes to no resolution, re-boot no help.

What graphics card do you have?

Depending on your graphics card, you might try installing proprietary graphics driver.

Got it working by holding down shift key and running in safe mode. I should have stayed with 12.04 and will return to it. 13.04, does not like a tinkerer.
