sgage...did you get any updates today in your 13.04 install? (the one that isn't converted to 13.10) I think my software updater is working ok...it said that i was up to date after checking...i am just trying to make sure my updater is still working ok after my fail with trying to convert to saucy...my software sources are showing the correct raring stuff on them...

No, none today in my "stock" Raring installation. Which is normal for the day after a release...

Is that from a Raring or Saucy installation?

Thanks sgage...i guess i am ok then...
When i ran the updater it scanned and then said i was up to date...

I guess i will have to hold off for a while to see about switching to saucy...perhaps i could try the "gui method" in about a week to do the upgrade through the software updater...
I saw an article about doing using that method...

Probably would be best to try AFTER the first daily builds for 13.10 go up, right?

That's pretty much the story here. I know that the full-on tool chain won't be loaded for a few days, but it's interesting to see the bits and pieces make their way into the system. I'm just jumping on the bandwagon this early for educational purposes, and if it all breaks hideously and irreparably, no matter - it's just an experimental setup. In fact, I fully expect it

So, right now, saucy is essentially just raring with a few opening moves being made to prepare the ground...

The Raring Repositories are now closed in the sense that the Raing code base will only receive the standard support updates. Otherwise users of 13.04 will find themselves using 13.10 in six months time and Raring will have become the daily updated kind of, sort of rolling release.

A new set of repositories have to be opened with the saucy urls and there has to be stuff to put at those locations. To start with it will be the Raring Code base. Then over time packages will be brought in that will turn the saucy development branch from a Raring code base into a saucy code base. Oh, the images that come to mind as I use that word 'saucy!'

There is nothing to update at the moment. There is nothing wrong with the instructions given by ventrical. The fault lies with us who are too eager (too saucy?). I will run those commands in my development Raring install on Monday or may be a bit later. Let the developers have a week-end with their families.

Edit: Perhaps we should look at the Saucy release schedule?

    https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SReleaseSchedule

The tool chain does not get uploaded until 2nd May. Not much going on until after that.

    +1! +1! +1!

    Look at the release notes:

    May 2nd; toolchain uploaded!

    Look at your calendar!
