How can I get out of ubbuntu 2d mode?

Hi guys I have installed ubuntu 12.04 and tried to use myunity and it said it can only be used in 2d mode because i am not running a 3d. So I decided to use this code
    Code:
    /usr/lib/nux/unity_support_test -p
and the response i get is "Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0". Error: GLX is not available on the system". I have a Nvidia GT 630M for my laptop. Help?
