Bluestacks or something similar for Ubuntu?

Is there any possible way to install bluestacks, or any other device that will allow me to use mobile apps on my ubuntu desktop? I have tried using an android emulator, it works, but can't log in to most things because of how slow it runs. If you know how, please tell me. If you know of any other software that does similar, isnt massive, and works properly, please let me know.

I've been looking into this, there's a product called "AndroVM" that I think was free, but their website says it's becoming a commercial product...not sure whether that means it just won't be updated any more or what, but it supposedly lets you play games from the Play store (see here).

    Anyone used it before?
