Facebook requires authoirzation?

I can't even get facebook to work in empathy. Facebook just keeps telling my it requires authorization and will not sign in, even after removing/readding the account. I even tried going on to facebook, ending all active sessions, deleting the ubuntu app, removing facebook account from empathy, rebooting, and adding it again. still "requires authorization" after setting up the account. It works totally fine on my other computers (one usng pidgin the other using trillian) so I don't think its a facebook server issue.

I've just got rid of Pidgin, and installed fbmessenger, seems to work fine.

try to remove and add your facebook account in gnome and ubuntu. To do that look for the application "online account" inside ubuntu.
