    Question about hardware compatibility

    First my hardware specs:

    Chassis: Silverstone RV03 Raven 3
    Mobo: Asus Rampage 3 Black
    CPU: i7 960 OC to 4GHz
    CPU Cooling: Corsair H80
    RAM: 8GB Mushkin Enhanced DDR3-2000 CL7
    Sound card: Asus Xonar Xense
GPU: 2x Asus ENGTX580 DCII in SLI
    PSU: Enermax SGalaxy EVO 1250W
    SSD: Corsair Force 3 240GB
HDD: Western Digital 750GB for storage

I'm aware that the ALSA driver doesn't support the Xonar Xense, but I wanted to ask if it supports the Xonar chip on the bundled Thunderbolt card that came with my motherboard. I'm not 100% certain what xonar chip the card uses, but I know it isn't the xense chip. Has anyone gotten this card to work under linux? I want to get as far away from Winblows as I can, and I'm willing to swap out the Xense for the Thunderbolt and sell the Xense + Headset. Also, and this isn't important but I still would like to know, would the card's Killer NIC chip work under linux as well.

I have googled for weeks, on and off, and I can't find anything. I'm getting desperate to get away from anything microsoft.

    Re: Question about hardware compatibility

The easiest way to check is to try it; boot a Live CD or Live USB and see what works and what doesn't.
