how to configure youtube I/m trying to play music clips,I can open it& select a black phrame appears no sound no picture.I/m using xubuntu12.04 &latest FF browser any ideas on how to correct this

Hi gregpo.

Have you installed flash? If not, go to the Software Center, or to Synaptic and do it there.

For me the easiest way is to do it on the terminal:

sudo apt-get install xubuntu-restricted-extras

You'll be installing codecs other useful programs. Details here.

yes allready done that plus other installs & advice to try &fix it after searching the forum, Ive loaded up my pc with that much crap but still no luck. one sugested it can/t be done with firefoxbrowser as no more suport for flash player browser&to use chrome but like I said ive tryed & installed that much all with no reults also read instructions on how to watch youtube with vlc media player but that don/t work either

Try reseting your Firefox profile:

firefox -P
