My problem is exactly the same as this one, which was asked a year and a half ago and not replied to:
1/ Launch Me-TV from apps list and nothing happens. No GUI, no sign of life. Look in Synaptic and I have it installed.
2/ Launch from a terminal and get 'me-tv currently not installed ... etc.' I 'sudo apt-get install me-tv' and get the reply 'latest version installed' !!!
Anyone got any ideas? Not sure that Me-TV is being well-maintained right now but thought there was a stable version around. This is weird. Wondering if it's something to do with being specifically for Gnome (I am running Xubuntu but have VLC, xine, etc. installed and a few Gnome dependencies).
Had it working fine during the last Olympics. Haven't used it again until about six months ago and didn't work at all for some reason. Kernel updates the cause? Had no luck since but trying to get to the bottom of it.
I am running 12.04.3 with kernel = 3.2.0-54-generic. Me-TV version 1.4.0.
* Further info: Thought I'd try this:
Showing the version I have installed, at least.
