You have to install restricted drivers for the graphics card (fglrx legacy), use this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~makson96/+archive/fglrx if there is no fglrx-legacy driver in the official repository.

Idk if this is solved yet or what cause i got tired of reading. Install the xorg edgers ppa https://launchpad.net/~xorg-edgers/+archive/ppa this is a common problem on intel cards and these drivers may not be stable but they work and they work well ^^

and use xorg edgers not frlx or whatever. Xorg is best for running the source games and stuff
