Re: Should I use x64 version?
If you can run 64-bit, you should, with two exceptions:
1. You have 1 GiB of RAM or less
2. You're a big emulation fan - some games console emulators are only available for 32-bit (zSNES being the only example I can think of at the moment)
Otherwise you'll probably never come across anything that doesn't work on 64-bit.
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
