Need custom boot screen

ok its not really a problem but see when i turn on my computer it comes up grub menu then i select ubuntu then it flashes purple then another shade of purple then my login pops up well i want to have a custom boot screen but cant because of this im kinda new btw and also haveing problems with wifi drivers i need one for Ralink corp. RT5390 Wireless 802.11n 1T/1R PCIe card please help and thank you

You can change the splash screen Ubuntu shows when loading by following the instructions here:
