    Ubuntu User Manual

    Hey Ubuntees,

Over the past two years i have been implementing Edubuntu in Schools across South Africa, and a lot of the End-User find Difficulty in using Ubuntu. Can we perhaps look at Compiling a User Manual or is there any available?

Good question and i may not be the best to answer this.

I would suggest that hands on training using the tools that they will be using would be best. Very vague and not that helpful i know but i think the only real way to know how to use an OS is to actually use it.

What exactly are they finding difficult about Edubuntu ? What are they using Eubuntu for ? Using applications ? General administration ?

The links i posted are for Ubuntu but i think the user interface and at least some applications should be similar.

    Kind regards

They Use Edubuntu for Curriculum delivery (Basic Computer Literacy) and also for subject specific assignments as part of integrating technology with the school's core subject offerings. The long term plan is to use it for Curriculum support (School Administration)

If they have any support questions they can always post questions here or on askubuntu.

If someone can answer their question then i'm sure they will.

youtube.com may have video tutorials that could be used and there are a number of video and podcasts that may be used.

The wiki here may be helpful as well.

If you haven't seen it already then you should check out SchoolTool, a project by the Shuttleworth Foundation that runs on Ubuntu.
