    Dual boot mess

    Hi all

I am getting this error when I try to install windows 7 64bit on my samsung series 7 chronos.

In my bios it says that if I want to install win7, I have to have cms os on ,which is what I did but no luck. I'm installing from a dvd.
How can I solve this problem?

    THank you

Re: the selected disk is of the gpt partition style

Guys I'm having a problem now, I have no OS in my laptop now. I read an article that says that I have to use windows repair disk and use some command line such as diskpart, list disk etc. And then I can install windows on it
However, when I use the repair disk on of my win os, it says this this repair system is not compatible with this win version (something along this line)
I then created a repair disk, but that one loads and half way through it reboots

    What can I do?

    Moved to General Help.

The System76 subforum is specifically for help with products from that OEM.

Is this a new UEFI system?
Windows dvd will only install in BIOS/CSM/Legacy mode if that is what you want.

Only 64 bit supported for UEFI boot

Prepare an usb thumb drive, to boot windows 7 in UEFI mode

    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...=ws.10%29.aspx

If you have UEFI/BIOS you have to boot in the mode you want each time with install or repair flash drives.

Also whenever you create a repair DVD make sure its the same version of windows (i.e. windows 7 ultimate x64) the architecture has to be the same as the current OS or the repair wont work
