Lightbulb A wishlist for Lubutnu 13.04

    Hi,

I have been asking this many times on the mailing list before. Now, I have translated my wishes to Launchpad so hope I/we can see this on the next release:

1- Adding the Trash to Lubuntu Desktop

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...a/+bug/1072108

2- Adding numlockx to Lubuntu by default

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...n/+bug/1072114

3- Add a lock screen option for Lubuntu

    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...on/+bug/612332

The last one is 2 years and 2 months old. Sad but true.

    Thanks a lot!

I'm not sure about LXDE but, in Xfce, you can associate terminal commands to keyboard shortcuts. In other words, associating the command "xscreensaver-command -lock" (without the quotes) to a shortcut such as Ctrl+Alt+L should then lock your screen.

This is how to create a Keyboard Shortcut in Lubuntu.

However, the one I reported should serve another purpose which is a Graphical Approach for new comers and those who are not familiar yet with Terminal. On another words, the easiest way to Lock your Screen.

I would also like to rec menulibre, a ppa is here https://launchpad.net/~menulibre-dev/+archive/devel

It was created for the ubuntu app challenge. It is a very lightweight menu editor, and as LXDE doesn't have a menu editor, and Lubuntu doesn't ship with one, I think this would be great.

Yes, we don't have an GUI approach to edit the menu, we do this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Lu...EditingTheMenu

I'm not sure how lightweight that will be? our developers need to decide that. We are so careful when it comes to add/remove features, that is why some features are still not yet in Lubuntu. Perhaps we are too much careful?

looks good, and in my opinion a graphical menu editor is really needed for the distribution, you can't ask users to manage their menu manually .

I used to recommend lxmed (http://lxmed.sourceforge.net) but menulibre seems lighter.

I have used done that many times, it just isn't as easy as a gui for new users. And I can understand being careful, however this is something that is "needed" for an easy to use DE experience.

I used to use LXmed, but I don't see it being on the CD. LXmed is a java program, and that would mean pulling all the java depends. Menulibre is python, so no new depends (I believe), and it weighs in at just 295.5 KiB.

Hi all, I would like to have in the menu a action that would put the multimedia stuff in, Like Lubuntu-restricted-extras and video codes that way a new user could up loaded there and not have to spend time figuring it, or living the the distro because they think is a bad OS.

More Themes for Lubuntu, the gnome-themes not look well.

Remove the F11 for fullscreen (lxde default) conflics with soma programs (firefox).
