    Starting Browser freeze the screen

Hi, I damaged somehow my installation and would like repair it.

The problem: Starting Internet browser freeze the screen and only reboot help.
I use Firefox that I already deinstall and reinstall. I additionally install chrome.
I tried start Firefox in save modus, but always by starting browser the desktop
freeze that I couldn't even shut down the pc. It doesn't seem that the problem is
    the broswer itself.

What can I do to fix the problem?

Re: Starting Browser freeze the screen

Meanwhile I know the bug is something in the configurations.
For testing I copied another /home folder from another
Ubuntu installation and the browser is running.
But I would like to fix my old /home because of all the settings.

Re: Starting Browser freeze the screen

I replaced in my original /home the directory /home/.mozila/firefox with another one.
It seems to work and all my other settings are preserved.

    thanks for helping doja.

I had a similar problem which I addressed with the same solution. Mind you I have a deep suspicion that NVidia drivers had a part to play and I also unchecked the Firefox 'Use hardware acceleration when available' setting...
You think that's air you're breathing now?
